Weekly Tailgate Recap: "The Prayer at Jordan-Hare" Part 2

A few days late but the recap from Thanksgiving week is as follows....

This happened...

Unfortunately, not all Alabama fans get to be consoled like this. Damn you, AJ.

...the double bird flip exit happened...(boss)

And Oregon State's kicker made a name for himself before the Oregon game.

I also got the chance to watch some college hoops in person at the Garden with #6 Duke vs. #4 Arizona. Jabari Parker had an off night and the Wildcats beat the Blue Devils, but it was a back and forth game all night. All and all very fun game to watch. A couple takeaways:

-  Duke is severely undersized this season and really needs to address that issue. They often play Parker at the 5 which really hurts their defensive rebounding. I also saw Coach K play a 2-3 zone which is pretty much saying "we suck on defense".

- Arizona stalled at times on offense but I was real impressed with them defensively. They're long and very athletic and both of their guards are very active guarding the ball (Nick Johnson and TJ McConnell). They do have some trouble scoring sometimes but defense wins championships they say.

- I can't really get a read on Aaron Gordon. He did a good job on Parker, but often seemed out of place on offense. He doesn't look as fluid as any of the other freshmen and seems to lack a real strength in terms of his offensive game. Kinda reminds me of Shaun Marion, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Every NBA scout looks for defense and he's got that going for him.
